The Programs

ShreveCORE (Cultivators Of Resilient Ecosystems) is designed to train environmental stewards entering the workforce with the skills needed for green jobs. The program prepares participants for careers in green industries by providing hands-on experience in litter abatement, urban farming and orchard management, urban forestry, waste reduction, and blighted-lot beautification and remediation. Environmental stewards also assist with hazardous waste sorting and other environmental projects, gaining practical skills and certifications that support sustainable career pathways.

ShreveCORE Member Role

Complete a full term of service (200 hours)

Remediate and beautify unused lots in low-income zip codes

building gardens, planting vegetables, flowers, trees, and more

Litter & Debris removal

Lifting up to 25 pounds

Work as a team with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Assist in the recruitment and training of volunteers as well as new members

Engage in Household Hazardous Waste events

Participate in the Bi-Annual tree giveaways

ShreveCorps Eligibility

Minimum of 17 years of age by the day of enrollment

U.S citizen, U.S. National, or a lawful permanent resident of the United States

Maintain a positive attitude

Willingness to work outdoors in the elements

Work as a team with individuals from diverse backgrounds

No prior experience is required

Must be willing to complete and pass a national background check
