The Community Programs Manager (CPM) is responsible for multiple publicly facing events and activities across the spectrum of Shreveport Green program areas. Including but not limited to:
● community outreach
● environmental education
● organizing and leading regular litter cleanups
● event planning and facilitation
● managing waste reduction programs
● coordinating and leading tree plantings.
Additionally, the CPM is responsible for grant writing and reporting relating to their scope of work. This includes project design, integration, sustainability, coordination, and close-out activities as specified by each funding opportunity. The person that will excel in this role can navigate complex social situations across diverse communities, institutions, organizations, individuals, and systems. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience and capacity to:
● coordinate diverse programs
● manage the physical requirements of the job
● be able to engage with a diverse community to achieve program goals, while making friends, and building partnerships for the organization with exceptional written and spoken communication skills.
Exceptional candidates will also have experience in:
● Demonstrate successful community outreach skills to build coalitions of supportive engaged stakeholders
● Familiarity with the principles of environmental education and stewardship
● Nonprofit work experience Working conditions include, but are not limited to, outdoors in rain, heat, excessive humidity, freezing temperatures and wind; plus the occasional blue-bird day that makes all of that worthwhile. Other duties as assigned and at the discretion of Executive Leadership.

Our ShreveCorps team is seeking Environmental Stewards who have a passion for improving the ecosystem of Shreveport through blight remediation, plantings, beautification, and community outreach. Each member will participate in establishing green spaces throughout the city while also focusing on improving the ecosystem through cleanups and soil remediation. Member terms are 300 hours with pay and education award.
