The cross-sections were taken from 2 black oak trees same seed stock, planted at the same time and grown side by side under identical conditions. For scale, the RPM tree is 20 cm in diameter average (approx. 7.5 in), and the bare-root grown tree is 9 cm (approx. 3.5 in) diameter.
