Shreveport Green holds one major tree planting commemorating Arbor Day (3rd week in January) each year. However, assistance is available for other tree plantings October through March. School and neighborhood tree plantings are encouraged. Shreveport Green regularly seeks grants to further tree planting practices. For more information about urban and community tree planting, care, conservation and education contact the National Alliance For Community Trees or The Louisiana Urban Forestry Council.
We at Shreveport Green believe in planting trees for posterity. They enrich our lives emotionally and physically. Through our Tree Legacy program we have planted over 100,000 trees in the last 15 years. Donations may be made in any amount and will be combined with other contributions to purchase trees to be planted on public lands in our community.
