Recycling is the responsible way to deal with waste. The cycle of recycling includes collecting recyclable materials that would otherwise be considered waste, sorting and processing recyclables into raw materials such as fibers, and manufacturing raw materials into new products.
In cooperation with the City of Shreveport Public Works and Allied Waste, Shreveport Green leads the way in recycling education and community outreach for Caddo Parish. Community outreach involves Household Hazardous Waste collection, educational recycling tours, overseeing the operation of two mobile recycling units and a variety of public presentations.
The Allied Waste Recycling Center is located at 4761 St. Vincent Avenue, and is open Tuesday thru Friday 7:30 am-5:30 pm and Saturdays 8 am- 2 pm. There are also various satellite locations around the city where recyclables can be safely disposed of, so don't wait until curbside recycling, get a head start now!!
