The wildflower program is now in its 10th year with an additional two acres of wildflower seed added to the Shreveport landscape this year! Seeds were sown in October along Clyde Fant Parkway, Youree Drive, and sections of I-49. This year's species include Texas bluebonnets, bachelor button, corn poppy, rocket larkspur, red clover, drummond phlox, and Texas Paintbrush, and should start blooming in March. Much of the success of the Wildflower Project is due to our generous partners: Public Works and DOTD.
If you are interested in making a donation to our wildflower program or having seeds sown in honor or memory of someone special, contact the Shreveport Green office at 318-219-1888.
