The Clean Campus Contest is an annual program that promotes litter abatement and recycling at schools. Sponsored by McDonald's franchisers Roy Griggs and Kurt Gehl, this annual "battle of the schools" encourages students and administrators the importance in keeping your school and community presentable. This contest is always a close call, with a plaque and banner presented to the school, and a cash prize awarded for future beautification projects. The 2005 winners are:
