Wipe Out Wireless Waste, Cell Phone Recycling

09/18/2007 - 12/31/2007

One cell phone can pollute up to 40,000 gallons of water!  The toxins in cell phones can cause many problems if not properly disposed of and are extremely hazardous to the environment.  At Shreveport Green, we have joined the Wipe out Wireless Waste Program, which makes it easier to recycle your old cell phones!  Just go to the customer service desk at your local Brookshire's (photo lab at the Haughton Brookshire's), take as many envelopes as needed from the Wipe out Wireless Waste display box, follow the instructions on the envelope and send your old phone through the mail to be recycled!  You can also find the envelopes in any building on LSUS campus.  Please call Millie at (318) 219-1888 if you have any questions, or if your local Brookshire's has run out of envelopes.
